RM6.2 Million To Upgrade Larkin Sentral, Larkin Market
JOHOR BAHARU, June 8 (Bernama) -- The Johor government will be allocating RM6.2 million to upgrade the Larkin Sentral bus terminal and Larkin market, said Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman.
Abdul Ghani said work on the upgrade would begin by the end of this year and of the sum, RM5 million would go to the terminal and the balance RM1.2 million the market.
"Currently, the terminal, which has a capacity for 2,200 bus movements a day, is recording 1,800 movements and when the upgrading is completed, it will be able to cater to 4,200 movements a day, which would be good for another 10 years," he told reporters after making a visit to the terminal here Tuesday.
As for the market, he said once it was upgraded, up to 240 traders would be able to conduct their business at it.
